Why are Preschool Classes so important? – Tappy Toes

Published on 17th June 2024 by Adam Reeves

Tappy Toes run classes for children aged 3 months to 5 years. Boy or Girl, Tappy Toes preschool dance classes will greatly improve your child’s coordination, motor skills and social skills, as well as challenge their imagination and creativity.

Preschool Classes

Parents are encouraged to join in, however, they will be amazed at how enveloped the child becomes after a few classes. It is a fantastic opportunity to mix with different personalities and a great way for particularly shy and timid children to really open up!

Generally dance schools will take children aged three years and above, but we believe the best time to start is as soon as they can move! Tappy Toes gives the children the chance to develop their imaginations and creativity through movement.

We truly believe that Tappy Toes is unique, it is not your run of the mill ballet, dance or toddler class, it provides a valuable and educational service by combining song, dance, storytelling and drama into one fun packed class for both parent and child!

Tappy Toes

Claire Greenwood – Creator & founder Tappy Toes I was a professional dancer for 10 years and I have danced all my life, so Tappy Toes is something I am very passionate about. I was teaching dance to 3-18 year olds and realised there wasn’t anything on the market, dance related, geared to children under 3 years.

I had lots of parents asking if they could bring their 2 year olds to my classes, but the class structure wasn’t really suitable for children that young, so I decided to create a syllabus specifically for that age group, and Tappy Toes was created.

Tappy Toes was designed to really get little ones moving, it’s an active, energetic dance and movement class.

Teaching all the Preschool Classes basics including skipping, galloping, running on tip toes, jumping, hopping, twirling and more.

Gentle stretches are disguised in fun stories, children learn to stretch their bodies, improve their posture and develop co-ordination without realising.

With the Chief Medical Officers’ physical activity guidelines for the under-fives being that Children of pre-school age who are capable of walking unaided should be physically active daily for at least 180 minutes, Tappy Toes is a great start.
