Published on 14th January 2020 by Tessa Robinson

Annie Harding, local businesswoman and Cardiff entrepreneur, has reached the finals in the inaugural Wales Children’s Activities and Services Awards with her business Kidslingo Cardiff.

The awards, Wales’ first ever dedicated awarding body to children’s activities and services, aim to celebrate and recognise businesses and people who enrich the vibrant and dynamic children’s sector in Wales.

“I’m so proud to be recognised in the Franchise of the Year category in the first ever Welsh Children’s Activity Awards. I have a fantastic team who help and support my business and without them, this would not have been possible.” Annie Harding, Kidslingo Cardiff Business Owner

Kidslingo is a children’s language franchise business that teaches French and Spanish to more than 15,000 babies, toddlers and primary school kids through a national network of over 120 franchisees and tutors across the UK. Its innovative approach is based on the science of learning, and uses a clever mix of music, games, Makaton, role-play, drama and storytelling.

January 2020 heralds the 6 th birthday for Kidslingo Cardiff and Annie’s business has gone from strength to strength since launch. When Kidslingo Cardiff started in early 2014, Annie had just 2 classes – however her and her team now teach French and Spanish to over 300 pupils in 14 schools across Cardiff every single week.

“Annie was Kidslingo’s first ever franchisee and is a huge credit to the Kidslingo business. Her hard work, dedication and passion for inspiring young children to learn languages is second to none. Clearly her customers adore her classes and this finalist position for the awards is so well deserved. She is an amazing teacher and an inspiring businesswoman.”

Anna Neville, Kidslingo CEO

“Getting to the finalist stage for these awards is tough, the standard of applicants was incredibly high. The judges certainly have a difficult job ahead. I wish Annie at Kidslingo all the very best throughout the rest of the process!” Kelly Jenkins, Wales Children’s Activities and Services Awards organiser.

The winners will be crowned at the prestigious awards ceremony on Friday 17 th January at the Village Hotel in Swansea. The Franchise of the Year category is sponsored by Club Hub and Tessa Robinson, Club Hub Founder and Director is also part of the judging panel. Tessa
added:

“I feel that awards are so important, especially for kids’ activity providers. Unless you are teaching children on a regular basis, people just have no idea how exhausting it is. Awards such as these really push providers to keep going and it gives them the recognition that they all need to remind them of what an amazing job they are doing”.
