Baby Band – York Music Classes
Baby Band music classes offer a musical experience for you and your little people. Join us at Baby Band and start your child’s musical education today. Baby Band is all about playing real instruments and listening to great examples of music from a huge variety of genres, not just singing along to basic nursery rhymes, although we do love some of the classics.
We have a team of live musicians who regularly join us with their various instruments to give our Baby Band members a taste of live music. Classes are available for children from 3 months to when they start school and are bookable all year round, not just term time.

Baby Sensory York
Baby Sensory is a multi-award winning programme specifically designed for babies from birth to 13 months. What makes Baby Sensory unique is that every activity has been carefully designed and is backed up by research, to stimulate your baby’s senses and encourage development and learning. Each session is different and provides a variety of ideas for creative play, tummy time, movement, visual development, scents and music. We also use both original and traditional songs and rhymes to help develop early speech and language skills.
All of these ideas can be easily replicated at home for extending the fun! Baby Swimmers – York Swimming Classes
Introduce your child to the enjoyment of water!
Baby Swimmers & Swimmers Academy run fun swimming classes for your little ones from 6 weeks upwards. We have put together a structured Awards Programme, using STA Starfish and Stanley Awards so you can see your babies, toddlers and older children progress to confident swimmers.
Baby Swimmers
We follow the Starfish Awards, so little ones can gain water confidence and build a foundation to swim unaided in the future. We play games and sing songs which are skill related and also teach water safety skills so they can learn to swim back to the side, hold on and climb out when they are strong enough. Our structured classes work towards this and are also fantastic for bonding with your little one, as well as enjoying yourselves in a fun relaxed atmosphere, which we always ensure is at your child’s own pace including underwater swims.
Babies use their natural reflexes when they are in water, so it is always a good idea to start as soon as you can, as swimming is a great workout and helps to strengthen their muscles and improves alertness, through word association and responding to cue’s such as kick, kick kick or hold on. Socially your baby will interact with other babies and join in the fun and games and as they get older sing along to the songs too.
For toddlers we follow the STA Stanley Awards, so again little ones can gain water confidence and build a foundation to swim unaided. For this age group we still sing songs and have fun with games and also start to teach the basic strokes, continuing with water safety skills and teaching your toddler to hold on, turn, then push off the side to swim to you independently. Classes will focus on floating, learning to tread water, rolling, push and glides, diving for sinkers and more.
Swimmers Academy
run classes for children from beginners at 4 years old through to advanced levels for teenagers. Children are encouraged to feel confident in water and learn this life-long skill by fully qualified, experienced teachers. Focus is on stroke technique and distance as well as lifesaving skills, following the STA Awards From Stanley all the way up to Gold in both survival and swimming skills.

Camp QE, Thorpe Underwood, York
Camp QE is an action-packed, multi-activity day camp for children aged 5-13 years (Year 1 school age and above) during school holidays. We take place on Thorpe Underwood Estate, home of Queen Ethelburga’s Collegiate, a leading independent school in North Yorkshire.
Every day at Camp QE is different and combines a great selection of outdoor sports, outdoor games, indoor sports, indoor activities and arts and crafts. Activities range from popular sports including football, rugby, cricket, tennis, dodgeball, volleyball and team challenges right through to QE’s own climbing wall. Firm favourites of every camp include the famous pool parties, Slip ‘n’ Slide and the Camp QE inflatable course.
The state-of-the-art facilities and high-quality, independent-school coaching staff ensure that every child has a safe, enjoyable learning experience that they’ll remember always.

Dramacube Movie-Makers York

Dramacube Movie-Makers York run exciting courses and workshops for young people aged 7 to 14 years, guiding them in the art of filmmaking as they make their own short film!
Guided by experienced drama and technical tutors the young people get hands-on experience as together they script, direct, shoot, and act in their own movie.
Fun and dynamic sessions include camera work, lighting design, sound-recording and other production techniques that help them discover the skills necessary for successful pre- and post-production, scripting and storyboarding and organising the shoot itself!
Movie-Makers encourages young people to develop their creative ideas, work collaboratively with others and have fun while learning new ideas and the principles of storytelling through the medium of film. No experience is necessary.
Each project concludes with the Movie-Makers film premiere! Parents/carers are invited to join their child for the movie screening at the end of the eleven-week course.
Enrol your child today for either a holiday workshop or the eleven-week after school term-time course and help them discover the magic of the movies! Two-week ‘taster sessions’ are available for the term-time courses.

Secret City – Family Treasure Hunts in York
Secret City treasure hunts are a unique way to explore historic York, fun for all the family. Somewhere between a walking tour and an escape game, they transform the city into a series of immersive and interactive puzzles. The perfect way to experience York’s scenic streets and fascinating local history whilst at the same time engaging in creative thinking and having a blast racing the clock!
All you need to play is at least one phone per team and a desire to explore. During the games you will receive riddles and cryptic directions from a range of historical and mythological characters, taking you on a fun-filled journey around the city and its sights.
Don your detective hats in ‘A Fatal Feud’ as you tackle a centuries-old murder; engage in a battle of wits against the beasts of ancient mythology to save the city in ‘The Drowned City’; or uncover hidden gems at a more relaxed pace in ‘Quirks and Snickets’. Along the way, visit York highlights and underappreciated treasures, discovering lost tales from their pasts; stop and start as you please, taking optional breaks in some of the city’s best cafes and eateries; and untangle puzzles as you try to get to the heart of your chosen mystery.
Secret City treasure hunts run daily and can be started at any time within a window unique to each game (see our York Treasure Hunts page for more information). They cost £15 per head and the ideal team size is between 2-6 players. Walking distance and duration vary but games typically cover 4-5km and provide 2-3.5 hours of entertainment.

York Footgolf – York Kids Activities
Footgolf is the UK’s biggest outdoor craze, combining football and golf to make a brilliant, family friendly activity which is great for all ages and abilities. No experiecne is necessary to play and you don’t need any equipment, just turn up and play!
Played the same as golf but instead of hitting a golf ball you are kicking the football around the specially deisgned course, trying to kick the ball into the large holes in as few shots as possible. Put simply, It’s the new way to play ball!
