Bristol Academy of Drama are a 5* rated children’s drama school where they focus on all areas of theatre rather than the musical theatre genre. During our term time classes and holiday workshops we learn about and engage in all spheres of drama from shadow theatre to devising, mask work to puppetry and many more.

We are all about encouraging children to harness the power of drama. Through the fun of drama and improvisation games and, with the help and encouragement of our experienced drama facilitators, they will build confidence, enhance creative thinking skills, teach teamwork skills and make new friends.

This summer we are offering 4 wonderful and fun workshops offering something in all ages ranges. Each workshop introduces children to new and interesting theatre challenges covering a variety of different theatre styles; there really is something for every child wanting to engage with performance and drama.

All our workshop this summer will be held at The Kelvin Players Theatre on the Gloucester Road in Bristol, BS7.

PUPPETRY IN PERFORMANCE (Age 7-12 years) – 1 Day Workshop
Monday 30 th July 2018 10.00 am to 4 pm
Children will make their own puppet and then learn how to bring it to life. They will then show their new found puppetry skills to parents in a short performance and can take their puppet home to make puppet shows of their own.

CREATING THEATRE FOR LITTLE PERFORMERS (Age 4-6 years) – 2 Day Workshop
Weds 8 th to Thurs 9 th August 2018 9.00 am to 12 noon
An exciting and creative journey into the world of drama and performance by exploring and then sharing a short performance piece based on the playful world of Cat In The Hat’s popular musical Seussical.

CREATING PERFORMANCE: TWISTED FAIRYTALES (Age 12-16)
Weds 15 th to Fri 17 th August 2018 10.00 am to 4.00 pm
Throughout 3 days the group will create a play from the theme of “Twisted Fairytales”. A workshop offering older children the opportunity to devise, rehearse and perform a play under the guidance of our experienced Drama Facilitators
