Activity Description

Social Understanding and social skills group.

 Children and young people explore:
Starting conversations and getting to know someone.
Finding common interests and making connections.
Joining in and feeling part of a group.
Understanding what makes a friendship feel positive and respectful.
Noticing other people’s feelings, reactions and boundaries.
Handling disagreements, misunderstandings and friendship fallouts.
Understanding when friendships change and knowing when to step back.

The aim: To help children and young people understand how friendships work, build positive connections and manage friendship challenges with greater confidence.

All social mentors working directly with children hold enhanced DBS checks and safeguarding training.
