All students in primary and secondary school are welcome to experience the MagiKats effect, which offers individually designed programmes and support for students of all abilities. Students attend weekly workshops where they can extend their knowledge, consolidate skills or get extra help.
Our workshops are the heart of the MagiKats programme and are planned to give each individual the maximum benefit through a range of approaches, including written and practical activities. Workshops are supported with the development of core skills.
Our friendly learning environment promotes confidence and a love of learning. Students work individually or in small groups, with 1-2-1 support when needed. Topics are grouped to support the school curriculum.
It’s not just about maths and English though! Our Reasoning programme helps students not only prepare for 11+, grammar school or private school exams, but helps any student improve their ability to apply learning to other areas of their life.
Whether studying English or maths, all MagiKats students also work on thinking skills, problem-solving skills and social skills. We don’t just aim to improve a subject, we aim to help the whole child.

Lottie set up CT Life Coaching in 2018 after a career teaching in schools in and around Dorset. She is a fully qualified teacher and life coach with over 12 years’ experience. With a team of experienced teachers, Lottie works with children on a one to one and small group basis to provide tuition in a range of subjects. The team work with children aged 4 to 18, covering all the core subjects and focus on building confidence and a love of learning. All tutors hold current DBS certificates and are fully insured.
To further develop her skills and understanding in Education and Psychology, Lottie studied for Master’s degrees in both subjects. All tutors at CT Life Coaching have been fortunate enough to meet and work with children and adults with ADHD, ADD and ASD. Their experience and learning has taught them how to help people identify how their neurodiversity can be an asset in their lives, rather than a deficit. Lottie provides a specialised approach to tuition, focusing on the whole child and boosting confidence while covering key concepts. This combination of tutoring and life coaching enables children to achieve their full potential. Tuition is conducted via video call, or from the tutors’ homes in Dorset. Lessons take place after school hours, during half terms and school holidays. Lessons are tailored to each individual child and are fun, engaging and thought-provoking.
Lottie has a 100% pass rate at Common Entrance and 11+ and specialises in the following areas:
‘Lottie has tutored our two sons for 3 years. Under her instruction, they have progressed hugely. Both boys have formally diagnosed educational needs, which makes their progress all the more meaningful. We will continue to seek Lottie’s guidance as our children make their way through senior school.’
In order to support parents with their children’s learning outside of tutoring sessions, Lottie and a team of teachers created and developed Cubie – a monthly maths subscription box providing 10-15 minutes of maths each day for children aged 4+. Cubie is an accessible, fun and child friendly way to boost skills, confidence and understanding in the subject.

As the pandemic brought the country to a halt and parents everywhere took on the huge challenges of home-schooling, experienced teacher and tutor, Hannah Baker saw demand for her online tutoring business expand rapidly.
Nearly one year on, Advance Tuition’s programme of online group classes has grown to support children of all ages, with a great variety of classes, to ensure that even in lockdown, children can continue learning, interacting and having some home-school fun!
With busy classes running in Maths and Literacy (Key Stages One & Two) and a popular SATs Club, children can keep up with their curriculum and maintain the ‘learning habit’ which will help them so much when they can return to the classroom.
Lockdown has inspired other classes too, including creative writing and French, along with book and times table clubs! Small interactive groups learn together over Zoom, with either Hannah or Emily leading classes and making sure that everyone learns, has fun and leaves the lesson with a smile on their face!
Feedback from parents:
‘Hannah’s teaching style is really engaging and encouraging. She engages every child in her lessons which really extends their confidence level and also inspires them to learn more. Hannah’s tutoring hours were a highlight for my son at the end of lockdown. She covered so much in a short time, clearly explaining everything and my son loved the interaction with others. Highly recommend!’
“Emily delivers organised and effective classes while oozing her radiant personality which keeps my children looking forward to every lesson “
Homework is optional but always provided to back up the learning from the class. Courses run on a half termly basis and prices start at just £30 per six-week course.

As reviewed in the Good Schools Guide: “Clients were itching to tell us how caring the agency is…‘Motivational,’ ‘professional’, ‘responsive’ and ‘personal,’ we also heard. Several told how Charlotte and Dani’s support goes well beyond the realms of finding a tutor – ‘they have so much knowledge of schools and the application process.”

“My 9-year-old loved your creative writing course. Every week she built on existing skills, was challenged (in a good way!) and the feedback was encouraging and useful. The tutor was super friendly, and the course has really helped to grow her confidence and given her the skills to write with greater depth. Thank you!” (parent)
