About Flower Wrap and Grow

Flower Wrap and Grow began as Kelly Rideout loved to make designs with flowers at home. Enjoying the sense of being close to nature in the garden and filling their home with cut flowers. Crafting beautiful flower gifts and giving them to friends and family.

As a family they love to watch the array of insects and birds visiting the flower garden in different seasons. This has been great for teaching their children about the wildlife in the garden while they plant their own patches. With wildlife, the future and the environment in mind it Its important to Kelly that the DIY Flower Kits are eco-friendly.

The aim is by creating beautiful floristry style DIY Flower Kits and DIY Kits For Children suitable for beginners and experience gardeners, you too can enjoy the experiences and create memories as they have together. Whether sending postbox gifts to someone you love or enjoying them yourself, may you enjoy having fun with flowers too!

We Made a Thing – Spring Activities for Kids

Spring Activities for Kids

This is our Spring/Easter Letterbox Craft Kit, which is available from our Etsy shop, for £12. This kit is one of our ‘open-ended’ craft boxes, meaning there is no set end product to be made following instructions. An ideas sheet is included with suggestions for what families could make, such as Spring or Easter cards for friends and family, a decoration to hang in a window, or a home for the little fluffy chick which comes in the kit.

However, we’ve learnt from watching my daughters play and be creative that children often like to go off on their own tangent! We believe that when children are giv

en the chance to engage in open ended craft activities  – so given a selection of materials to use however they choose – it fosters independence and creativity. It helps them learn to problem solve and let’s them be in control. This craft kit is packed full of card, paper, stickers, feathers and all sorts of other crafty bits to allow you to get creative together.

A lot of parents have told us that their children got a lot of joy from exploring what was inside the box – and we make sure there are lots of different textures and materials included in all our kits. Our kits are also great to use alongside playdough for younger children. We have other Easter options available if you prefer something a bit less open-ended, such as Easter Egg decoration kits, Bunny decoration kits and Easter Baskets to make and decorate. Other Spring inspired boxes will be added soon.

Little Learners South Norfolk.

ASpring kids activities

Hello, my name is Emma Pearce, and I am the proud owner of Little Learners South Norfolk.

Little Learners encourages children from 5 months to 5 years to make marks using play. From when our children are babies, they begin to hold objects, toys and mark making tools. They use their movements such as up, down, side to side to begin the early aspects of mark making.  Our classes use all kinds of messy play, for example gloop, dried coloured rice and much more with the use of different tools e.g. utensils to encourage making marks.

We have classes across the county, if you haven’t booked on to my classes or to a Little Learners class near you visit: –

But… If you can’t’ wait until classes start why not try this Spring Bumble Bee activity.

You will need: –

  • 1 x Paper Plate
  • Yellow paint or pens
  • Black Paint or pens
  • Paint brushes
  • Glue
  • Pipe cleaners
  • Blue Paper
  • White Paper
  • Child safe Scissors

Step 1: Grab your paper plate, squeeze some yellow paint into a tub or plate, give your child a paintbrush and encourage them to put it in the paint and start making marks on the paper plate.

Step 2: Once the plate is painted entirely yellow, put it aside and wait for it to dry. Now get your blue card and encourage your little one to cut out the wings of the bumble bee. Any pattern is fine.

Step 3: Now that the body of your bee is dry, squeeze out some black paint, again encouraging your child to put the brush into the paint and make side to side marks on the plate to replicate the stripes of the bee.

Step 4: Once the paint is dry, you can then grab your glue and stick the wings on either side of the bee.

Step 5: Grab a pipe cleaner and cut it in half, then you need to twist the pipe cleaners to make them into the antenna’s, then use the glue to stick them on the back of the plate.

Step 6: Draw the outline of two circles on a white piece of paper and encourage your little ones to cut them out, use a black pen to draw eyes onto the paper and then stick them onto the bumble bee. Then draw a nice smiley face and there you have your spring bumble bee.
