At Red Eagle Martial Arts we believe that every person can gain many benefits from learning karate, and our aim is to provide a fun, safe environment to learn and develop. Karate training isn’t just about learning how to punch or kick, it’s understanding the body mechanics behind it, how by using tai sabaki, which loosely translates into body management, you can make a technique work without having a huge amount of physical strength.
Learning ‘kata’, a set series of moves, they will improve their focus, co-ordination and reflexes. Concentrating on their own movements, almost a form of active meditation, it’ll improve mental strength, developing their ability to deal with daily challenges and obstacles.
Working through our specialised Kitsu syllabus, junior students learn various techniques, padwork and kata ready for grading, demonstrating all they’ve learnt to earn their next belt. There is a set syllabus which sets out their path to earning a black belt.
Being awarded a belt is a fantastic way for your child to demonstrate their hard work and dedication, training regularly and consistently, showing positive behaviour and focus. They’ll feel proud when they put on their gi (karate suit) and belt, they’ll be eager to show you what they’ve learnt every week after training!
