Baking offers so many opportunities for kid’s to work on their motor skills. Pouring liquids requires careful hand and eye coordination and kneading dough strengthens muscles. Whipping, creaming and rubbing all use different movements and muscle groups. A baking session makes an excellent work out!

Really Easy Pizza – Easy Baking Recipes For Children

This recipe is from Britain loves baking and is really fun for the kids to do!

  • In a large bowl, mix 300g strong bread flour, 1 teaspoon each of instant dried yeast and salt. Stir in 200ml of warm (NOT HOT) water and a tablespoon of olive oil. Mix with a knife until you have a soft dough. Turn out onto a well floured board and knead for 5 minutes until smooth. Cover with a tea towel to prove.
  • Heat oven to 240°C/220°C fan/gas 8 and oil your baking tray.
  • Meanwhile assemble your toppings – mozzarella, salami, ham, peppers, mushrooms, basil leaves are authentic.
  • Combine a jar of tomato passata with I jar of red pesto.
  • Roll your dough into a circle, turning after every few rolls. Remember to keep your surface well floured. Once it is thin and round lay it onto your tray. Add a ladle or two of sauce and spread it out, then add your toppings of choice and half a ball of torn up mozzarella on top. GET A GROWN UP TO HELP HERE Bake for 10-15 minutes near the top of the oven, but watch it
    carefully!
  • This makes two large pizzas!

Creative Activities for Kids at Home – Gardening

So, our final Creative Activities for Kids at home – gardening! If you don’t have empty planters to get the garden growing you can always use an old egg carton. The  kids can take notes on what they’ve planted and keep track of their garden’s progress to make the activity more educational. They can draw the heights that their seedlings as they grow.

You could encourage your children to plant herbs like basil or rosemary tomatoes, cucumbers or cress. It’s so rewarding for kids to be able to actually eat what they grow! They will have delicious ingredients for cooking before they know it! Sunflowers are also a fantastic thing for children to grow as they grow so tall and look so so pretty!
