A Guide to Keeping Your Baby Clean All Day

Published on 10th February 2019 by Tessa Robinson

It is common knowledge that babies are messy. The thought of keeping your baby clean can be quite daunting. As they get older and start crawling and solid foods are introduced, it only gets worse. Trying to keep your baby clean all day can be a challenge. Nevertheless it is possible. So, if you are after tips and tricks for keeping your baby clean, you are in the right place! We have 3 different ways that you can ensure you have a clean baby.

1. Bibs are your saviour

· Neckerchief dribble bibs

At around three months old, your baby will start to dribble and drool. There are a number of reasons why this happens. One reason is baby drool as they start to teethe. Another reason why, is due to the preparation for the solid foods that they will be consuming in a few short months. Their salivary glands are being put to work. However, unfortunately, they are not capable of moving the saliva to the back of their mouth just yet. As a result, the adorable clothes that you dressed your baby in will quickly find themselves soaked through. However, with a neckerchief dribble bib, you can mop up the dribble in an instant. The neckerchief bibs will look stylish on your baby. Furthermore, you won’t have to rummage around for a muslin cloth when you are out and  about, either. This step will help in keeping your baby clean all day.

· Food bibs

When your baby reaches around six months, you can start them on baby-led weaning. Look out for signs that they are ready. They will be able to sit up and hold their head steady. Babies who are ready will also co-ordinate their eyes, hands and mouth. When you start introducing solid foods to your baby’s diet, the chances are that things are about to get messy. As your baby discovers the skill to feed themselves, the food will undoubtedly everywhere. It will end up in their hair, eyebrows, nose, clothes, and could leave you wondering if they actually consumed any food. At this point, keeping your baby clean can seem like an impossible task. While you won’t be able to prevent them from squishing banana into their hair, you can keep their clothes clean. Save yourself from cleaning your baby from below the neck with a food bib. This will catch any food and prevent it
from landing on their clean clothes.

2. Always have a packet of wet wipes to hand

This tip in keeping your baby clean might seem obvious. Always make sure that you have a packet of wet wipes handy. Especially important if you are out and about. The wipes are the perfect solution for keeping your baby clean. They will enable you to wipe your baby’s hands or face after their messy encounter. They will not only make your baby appear spic and span. Wet wipes will also keep the germs away, and so your baby will be healthy.

3. Antiseptic lotions

The moment your baby starts crawling, they will be exposed to all sorts. Especially as they are crawling on the floor. You can ensure that you are keeping your baby clean by keeping a tidy home. However, you are not always going to be in your own home. Therefore, after your baby has finished crawling, make sure to apply antiseptic lotion and wipe their hands to ensure that the germs are kept at bay.

All of these steps will really help in keeping your baby clean.
