Horrible Histories Halloween at Leeds Castle: Silly Ghosts and Ghastly History – Kent

Best Halloween Activities for 2026

This October half term, Horrible Histories is once again invading Leeds Castle in Kent, and it’s bringing all of history’s nastiest, ghostliest secrets with it.

From 17 th October to 1 st November 2026, the Castle grounds become a ghost getter’s trail. They’ll be teeming with royal spirits, witch trials and superstitions creepy enough to make your skin crawl (in a good way).

Grab your trail booklet* to become an official ghost getter, completing a series of spooky challenges along the way.

Meet queens who came back to haunt, including the ghost of Eleanor of Castile. Uncover the story of Joan of Navarre, a queen accused of witchcraft and imprisoned right here at the Castle. And challenge Henry VIII, to a spot of target practice, though it’s probably wise to let him win.

Then brew a banishing potion in the Witches Zone, put your speed to the test in the Ghost Getter Relay Race, and cook up a spooky story of your own. Once you’ve gathered all the ghostly gossip, head to the Maze for the Ghostly Gala Finale.

Live performers will bring the day’s tales to life with music and dancing… if you dare.

Fancy dress is encouraged, with costume competitions twice daily.

Beyond the trail explore Leeds Castle’s crisp autumnal gardens, meet the magnificent birds at the Birds of Prey Centre and let off steam in the adventure playgrounds.

Every admission ticket includes unlimited daytime return visits for a year, offering plenty of opportunities to experience the Castle throughout the seasons.

Horrible Histories Halloween runs from 17th October to 1st November 2026.
