Surbiton Hockey Club

Best Hockey Clubs for KidsSituated in South West London, Surbiton HC is one of the biggest, most successful and most inclusive hockey clubs in the country. Our two artificial hockey pitches and clubhouse play host to a thriving junior section with over 1000 players aged 6 – 18, who all receive outstanding coaching and lots of gameplay throughout the season.

We run hugely popular half and full day hockey camps during every school holiday. Every camp includes exciting hockey designed to inspire and challenge players to the right level. You’ll do everything from wacky warm ups to fun games and skills masterclasses (including specialist training for goalkeepers). Our awesome coaching team includes Great Britain
internationals, hockey Olympians and experienced club coaches.

Non-members are always welcome too and many young players have such a great time at our camps and taster days that they go on to join the Surbiton HC Colts section.

Sunbury and Walton Hawks Hockey Club

We offer a safe positive fun learning environment for children ages 7- 18. Our expert coaches cater for a complete beginner all the way through to elite performers. Our coaching sessions develop fitness, technique and confidence. Children learn in a nurturing environment. We have a philosophy of development for all, and we make sure we offer friendly matches as well as competitive matches.

Some of our notable achievements have been U12 County Champions 5 times in last 6 years, U14 Regional Finalists, we have seen a number of players represent Middlesex and Surrey County, some have gone on to be awarded places at the Performance Centre. We are also proud to have had two players selected for the Futures Cup which is a very prestigious tournament for young players. This leads to selection for the National Age Groups squad which a player achieved. We also celebrate seeing so many players develop a sheer passion for the game. We also run a very successful adult section for both men and woman so there is a clear pathway for all players.

Ealing Hockey Club

Best Hockey Clubs for KidsWe are Ealing’s very own local field and indoor hockey club at the heart of the leafy West London Borough.  The Club was founded as a junior academy. We are now the leading junior club in West London.   But “We are not just a hockey club, we are part of the local community in so many ways”.

Ealing HC is an England Hockey ClubMark accredited sports club.

We cater to our extended hockey family with a weekly social hockey programme that enables adult players to get back into the sport or just continue to play the sport in a relaxed and fun environment.

Ealing’s junior hockey club has had an impressive growth (350) from its inception and is very much a reflection of the diversity of the community it serves. We wish to enable any junior to play at their highest level. The club is very proud that it attracts juniors from all backgrounds and schools, helping with bursaries and kit to support those children who have “free school” meals.

Located in Godalming, Surrey, Guildford Hockey Club runs regular training and matches throughout the year for players aged 4 and up. With strong links to local primary and secondary schools the club is a welcoming, friendly and fun place to play.

Also, during each school holidays come and join our team of amazing coaches for fun and engaging hockey camps each school holiday. Designed and led by Double Olympian Dan Fox, each camp offers a day of challenging skills, drills and games. Learn a lot, be inspired, and have fun!

Players from school year Reception upwards are welcome and are grouped by age and experience (Our oldest age group is players aged 14-16).

We welcome both experienced players and those who are trying out hockey for the very first time, with almost half of camp attendees being new to the club.

Old Silhillians Hockey Club – Between Knowle and Solihull

Old Silhillians provides playing opportunities for both girls and boys aged 4 to 14 years of age on Sunday mornings, and then Tuesday and Friday evenings, plus Saturday matches for 14-18 year olds. All players will get to access an array of training and playing opportunities, with all levels of ability, experience and commitment catered for, with the club ensuring that matches at different levels are interspersed with club training.

All junior training takes place at The Silhillians Sports Club (between Knowle and Solihull, 150 yards from J5 of the M42), and is one of the sports delivered at one of the largest multi-sports clubs in the Midlands. The pitch, clubhouse, catering, changing facilities, parking and other amenities are all within a few metres of each other.

The club was the first hockey club in the Country to receive the Club Mark standard, which verifies that it meets all of England Hockey’s recommended minimum standards for safeguarding, welfare and general operations (such as GDPR etc.)  The club is currently on its 6th re-award of this standard, more than any other club in the Country.  There is also an excellent pedigree of hockey delivery, with Old Silhillians winning the European Club of the Year in 2014 and the England Hockey Club of the Year in 2015, and currently has over 40 junior players representing the County or above in the talent pathway, whilst also catering for many that are brand new to the sport.
