Creative Wiz Kids burst into life in 1990, when painter-poet Frances Bildner decided New York City needed a little more colour, rhythm, and joyful mayhem. Armed with brushes, big ideas, and the kind of creative energy that could power a small planet, she opened a space where children could explore art, dance, and music without a single whiff of corporate stiffness. Think less boardroom, more boogie room.
From the very beginning, Creative Wiz Kids has been a celebration of imagination in its wild, natural habitat. Walk through the door and you’re greeted by a swirl of paint, the thump of tiny feet dancing to their own beat, and the kind of laughter that makes adults wish they could join in. Kids don’t separate creativity into tidy boxes, and neither do we. They paint to music, dance while they draw, and turn stories into mini-musicals before anyone can say “clean the brushes.”
Workshops are joyful . Children feel free to experiment, express, and make glorious messes. The teachers are guides, cheerleaders, and co-conspirators in creativity — always ready to encourage a bold colour choice or applaud an impromptu dance break. Every session feels like a tiny festival of self-expression.
What keeps Creative Wiz Kids special after all these years is its heart. It’s warm, welcoming, and wonderfully human. Frances’s original vision — creativity as joy, connection, and freedom — still pulses through everything they do.They are not just teaching art, dance, and music. They are nurturing confidence, imagination, and the pure delight of making something that didn’t exist five minutes ago.

Get ready for an exciting February Half Term! We’re thrilled to invite your young explorers to our brand-new Biodesign Lab, where biology meets engineering and nature inspires the tech of tomorrow.
Have you ever wondered how nature solves the world’s toughest challenges? In the Biodesign Lab, we go beyond learning about animals—we learn from them. Through the fascinating study of biomimicry, children will discover how millions of years of evolution can spark groundbreaking human innovations.
Across five action-packed days, your child will become a nature-inspired designer. We’ll explore how Japanese engineers studied shark-skin-inspired engineering to create faster, quieter trains, unlock the glowing mysteries of bioluminescence, and uncover how animals use the Earth’s magnetic-field navigation like a natural GPS.
But that’s just the beginning! We’ll dive into the power of plant science and fungi technology to see how mushrooms are helping engineers build greener solutions. We’ll reveal the secrets of camouflage and night vision—and how these stealth techniques influence modern inventions. Your young scientist will also explore insect engineering, learning how bees, dragonflies, and other insects build, navigate, and fly with incredible efficiency.
This camp is all about hands-on discovery. Each day features exciting experiments, interactive learning, and creative building challenges. Your child will design their very own nature-inspired inventions, making it the perfect experience for young builders, curious thinkers, and future scientists.
We can’t wait to welcome you!
