YOUTH THEATRE – Abstract Dance & Performing Arts 

Activity Description

2 week £5 trials – Youth Musical Theatre is an exciting and dynamic class that combines singing, acting and dance to create confident, versatile performers. Students explore the essential skills required for musical theatre performance whilst developing creativity, self-expression and stage presence in a fun and supportive environment. Through songs, scenes and choreography from both classic and contemporary musicals, students learn how to tell stories, develop characters and communicate emotion through performance.
Classes focus on developing vocal technique, acting skills, musicality, movement, teamwork and confidence. Students are encouraged to use their imagination, embrace their individuality and build resilience whilst working collaboratively with others. Musical Theatre provides excellent all-round performing arts training and supports the development of communication, presentation and public speaking skills that benefit students both on and off the stage.
At Abstract, Musical Theatre students enjoy numerous opportunities to perform in annual theatre productions, showcases, community events and special performances throughout the year. Students may also choose to participate in the National Performing Arts Alliance Awards programme, celebrating achievement, commitment and personal progress. Through expert tuition and inspiring performance opportunities, students develop into confident, well-rounded performers with a lifelong love of the performing arts.
