Activity Description

Introducing our parent-child book club

ParkBox has launched across several parks in Croydon and Purley. To share a love of books, reading, and play, we’re starting our Baby Book Club and Wildflower Book Club.

Each week will include songs, book readings, and friendly chit chat. Included is a free hot drink for adults and a children’s book for the kids.

A portion of the lesson cost goes to the upkeep of the ParkBoxes and investment into building more ParkBoxes across the borough.

Books and reading support child language comprehension, vocabulary development, language structures, and broader knowledge development.

Getting outside is crucial to physical development. Being part of the ParkBox Book Club, we hope, will foster literacy and be a really fun, joyous part of your week.

£5 per child
Includes a free hot drink & children’s book

Baby Book Club (Ages 0-2) – 10.00am
Wildflower Book Club (3+) – 10.30am

Purley Rotary Field
Baby Book Club (Ages 0-2) – 11.30am
Wildflower Book Club (3+) – 12noon

Purley Beeches
Baby Book Club (Ages 0-2) – 1pm
Wildflower Book Club (3+) – 1.30pm

Coombe Wood Gardens
Baby Book Club (Ages 0-2) – 3pm
Wildflower Book Club (3+) – 3.30pm

Max 10 parent + child per group

Please note, we are not teaching the children to read. We are encouraging a love of reading, books and most importantly, a love of reading between your child and you.
