From Saturday 24 October – Sunday 1 November 2026, enjoy a wild October half term at Marwell Zoo, where autumn adventures, seasonal activities and amazing wildlife come together for a fun-filled family day out. With plenty to discover across the zoo, Wild Autumn is the perfect way to embrace the season and make some special family memories.
Explore the twists and turns of our Autumn Maze and keep your eyes peeled for the Golden Acorn hidden along the way. Once you’ve found it, answer the question for your chance to win a magical prize. Will you be able to spot it?
Head along to the pumpkin patch for seasonal games and activities or get stuck into pumpkin carving and painting and create your very own autumn masterpiece to take home. Afterwards, why not settle down for magical storytelling with Esme the Witch inside the Grade I listed Marwell Hall, with storytelling taking place throughout the day.
Spot scarecrows created by the Marwell teams, snap some autumnal memories at seasonal photo opportunities around the zoo, and get up close to the Marwell Machines. Little ones can even hop aboard our tractor, Little Blue, on the Marwell Hall drive!
For those looking for a little extra sparkle, face painting and glitter tattoos will be available in the Giraffe House. Here, you can also have the chance to discover something a little different with an exciting virtual reality experience. Dive into a colourful world of insects and discover the tiny creatures that play a huge role in our ecosystems, before heading back outside to meet some of Marwell’s incredible animals. Throughout the day, you can also enjoy animal talks and feeds, giving you the chance to learn more about the animals in our care and hear from our knowledgeable keepers.
