Activity Description

Last Saturday, I watched one of our newer students walk in a bit unsure, staying close to the door at first.

By the end of the morning, they were laughing with their group and didn’t want to leave.
That’s usually how it starts.

Saturday mornings at Theatretrain are three hours of singing, dance and drama, but what matters most is how children settle into it.

We keep things structured so they know what’s coming, but there’s space to try things out without pressure. Some join in straight away. Others take a bit longer. Both are absolutely fine.

Over time, you start to notice the changes.
They speak a little louder.
They join in more quickly.
They begin to find their place within the group.

A lot of what they’re learning doesn’t look like “training” at first glance. It’s listening, working with others, taking direction, sticking with something when it feels tricky.
And yes, there’s a lot of laughter along the way.

Our students also take part in live theatre productions in professional venues, which gives them something real to work towards and the experience of being part of a full show.

Everyone is involved. Everyone contributes in their own way.
