Opera in a Day: Make your own opera

Activity Description

Become a composer for the day, and create your own opera!

In this one-day session our group will work with local composer Nia Williams to devise and create their own mini-opera to showcase to parents and friends at the end of the day. We will explore storytelling, music making, and offer a rare opportunity to work with operatic professionals to create a brand new opera. If you like letting your imagination run wild, or if you have ever wanted to try songwriting, then this workshop is for you! There are no limits on your creativity ​here – today, you’re in charge.

This workshop will run from 10.00 – 16.30 [with our performance at 16.15], and we offer flexible drop off / pick up from 9.00 – 10.00, and 16.30 – 17.00. The workshop will take place at All Saints’, Headington, and will be led by opera industry professionals. This workshop is suitable for 10 – 14s.
