Newborn Communication Workshop 

Activity Description

The workshop is a 6 week series of classes exploring how tiny babies communicate with their senses.  It’s a fascinating look at ways in which you can help support their early development by tapping into these sensory cues. Each week we learn a handful of relevant BSL (British Sign Language) signs, sing familiar nursery rhymes and songs, and enjoy a communication themed activity which is all perfectly suited to the challenges of the first few weeks and months!   The newborn workshop gives you tips and ideas to use at home to help soothe and settle your baby, deepen your bond, and support their development by tapping into their early communication cues and sensory receptiveness.  It’s completely fine if your baby sleeps through the sessions, as they are aimed at you as parents to give you ideas of ways to support their development and get the best our of your early weeks and months together. The course is best suited to babies under 12 weeks by the start date.

Social and support time is included in all our classes too, while we discuss all those wonderful baby moments and milestones. Chat to other new parents, or just sit and listen along with your baby: no pressure!   Helpful handouts will be provided and access to supporting materials, as well as information on useful services.  There’s no need to bring anything other than your baby, and the things you need to care for them (milk, nappies etc!) We’ll even make you a cuppa, so you can recharge your batteries a little while you’re with us!
