Game Development for Kids (Year 5 to Year 9)

Activity Description

Codingal’s Game Development course helps kids in Grades 4–8 master the principles of game development, from storytelling and gameplay design to AI-based animation and JavaScript programming. Delivered live 1-on-1 online by expert Computer Science teachers, this Game Development programme takes students from block-based coding on Scratch through to text-based game design on Code.org’s Game Lab platform.

Across 36 lessons and 40+ hands-on activities, kids build real, playable games — Pacman, Mario Dash, a Solar System explorer, Collision Detection, and Save the Cow — while learning conditional statements, loops, and logic building along the way. Students earn STEM.org accredited Game Development certificates (Young Scratch Developer and Game Developer), gain lifetime access to course recordings, and unlock exclusive competition entry.
