Activity Description
Our Bar & Beam classes focus on progressive skill development across both apparatus, with athletes working at levels appropriate to their ability.
🔹 Beam Training
Gymnasts develop:
• Mounts and dismounts
• Leaps, jumps, spins and dance elements
• Forward, backward and sideways acro skills
• Connected series for routine construction
• Confidence and stability through targeted balance drills
🔹 Bar Training
Athletes work on:
• Mounts and dismounts
• Circling elements and bar transitions
• Casts, handstands and shaping
• Bar connections to build routine flow
• Upper-body and core conditioning specific to bar performance
🔹 Routine Preparation
Gymnasts regularly practise Bar and Beam routines for competitions and in-class assessments, focusing on execution, consistency and technical accuracy.
