From the Enormous Crocodile to the Pelly everyone has their favourite Roald Dahl animal character. Over Easter the Roald Dahl Museum will be championing the best and celebrating the 40th anniversary of The Giraffe, and the Pelly and Me. Join in with storytelling sessions featuring amazing animal heroes as well as trails, workshops and drop-in crafts.
Included with your general admission ticket:
Storytelling – with stories from The Enormous Crocodile and The Giraffe and the Pelly and Me.
Drop-in crafts – head to George’s Crafty Kitchen to colour, stick and create.
Museum trail – pick up our Extra-ordinary Animals trail and find the eggs around the Museum.
Village and countryside trail leaflets – explore the surrounding area that inspired the stories at your own pace.

Clay Pelly Buckets
Get your hands nice a messy with our Clay Pelly Buckets workshop running on Tuesday 8, Wednesday 9 and Wednesday 16 April. Find out some of the secrets behind the story of The Giraffe and the Pelly and Me and then sculpt carve and decorate your bucket out of air dry clay. Adults are welcome to help out, or pay to make their own!
Animal Handling with Jungle Juniors
Jungle Juniors will be returning to the Museum on Thursday 17 April. You‘ll learn about some fascinating bugs and get up close to a range of reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates — including some that feature in Roald Dahl’s stories.
Animal Antics Village Trail
Join our expert guide, Michael, on a whistle stop tour around the Roald Dahl sights of Great Missenden, with some animal-filled storytelling along the way. Takes place on Friday 11 and Thursday 17 April.
