2nd Edgware Scouts

Activity Description

One evening you’re building dens and rope swings in the woods, the next you’re inside baking brownies and playing dodgeball. Swap an evening of screens for something different in Edgware. Have fun, make friends and try something new!

At 2nd Edgware, our Scout section is open to girls and boys aged 10½ – 14. We meet on Tuesday evenings from 7 – 9pm at our Scout Hut, just a four minute walk from Edgware Station. This age section is all about mastering new skills and trying new things. Get set to make new friends, have fun and go on adventures. Scouts is also about exploring the world around us, helping others and making a difference in our community. Still not sure? Come and try a few free taster sessions with us!

Our Tuesday meetings consist of a mix of teambuilding games and activities, ranging from cooking and crafts, to fire lighting and film making. In line with Youthshape Scouting, our programme takes inspiration from our young people – the kind of skills they want to master, the badges they want to earn and the activities they want to try out.

Outside of Tuesdays we run a variety of events across the year, including hikes, day trips and taking part in events with other troops. However, it’s the camps which are often the highlight of scouting. We aim to offer a weekend camp in autumn and winter, as well as a four day Narrowboat Camp over Easter, and a week away in summer. These give young people the chance to spend time outdoors with their friends, learn new skills, and explore another part of the country.
