Fire, Stones and Bones at Cheddar Gorge & Caves this February Half-Term
Journey back in time and immerse yourself in the world of our ancient ancestors this February Half-Term.
Fire, Stones and Bones is a fun and educational adventure that takes you back to prehistoric Britain. Running daily during the local school holidays, from Friday 14th February – Sunday 23rd February 2025.
This event is included in the price of a Day Ticket, offering an exciting opportunity to learn how our ancestors lived and survived during the Stone Age.
Our knowledgeable team will bring your Stone Age adventure to life with interactive daily talks and demonstrations:
• Fire Lighting (11:00 AM and 1:00 PM): Witness how ancient humans would have started making fire, showcasing their ingenuity and resourcefulness.
• Tool Making (12:00 PM and 2:00 PM): Discover how early humans crafted tools essential for their survival.
Please note that outdoor demonstrations are subject to daily weather conditions.
As part of your visit, from 10.30am – 4pm, take part in our fun activities at the Museum of Prehistory. Try your hand at being an archaeologist and see what you can unearth in our Dig Boxes! There will be a chance to ask our knowledgeable hunter-gatherers questions about life in the Stone Age, photo opportunities for those wanting to dress up in prehistoric costume, a museum quiz where you can learn lots of facts and test your knowledge about what life was like here in Cheddar Gorge and discover amazing artefacts unearthed in the area.
Fire, Stones and Bones is included in the price of a day ticket, which gives access to six exciting attractions. Dogs are welcome too so the whole family can join in the fun.
