Turn the day into a Creative Activities for Kids at home day!
Indoor days can be just as fun as going out and sometimes even more memorable. You might want to get cosy up, stay in your PJs or change into some old clothes that you won’t mind if they get ruined.
So first things first. Let’s start our blog article off with our first idea for Creative Activities for Kids at home.
First of all, cover the area your children are going to be creating. Cover with either newspaper or a wipeable/washable tablecloth. Ensure that they have old clothes on or clothes that you won’t mind them getting a bit of paint on. You may want to put on aprons to cover their clothes too.
Now, time to bring out all of your crayons, felt tips, markers, glue, paint, paper, and whatever other odds and ends you have around the house and let the Creative Activities for Kids. Let them decide what craft they want to do. If they are a little bit younger you may need to guide them, however, try to let them express themselves as much as they can.
When they are finished, take the art and hang it from string with clothespins, display the 3D works on shelves, and host your own pop-up art gallery.
Threading beads is a fantastic way to improve fine motor skills whilst keeping your little ones entertained! They could make necklaces, Keychains, friendship bracelets and more.
For younger ones, If you don’t want to use beads you could always use some string and penne or macaroni pasta!
Beading is one of the most simple Creative Activities for Kids and will keep your little ones happy for hours.
Decorating or painting rocks is another one of our simple Creative Activities for Kids at home. It’s a great activity which you can just leave your little ones to get on with, without much input at all.
If you are going to the beach this summer, or the woods collect some larger smooth rocks that you can bring gone and decorate.
Once you have your rocks in front of you, paint them, stick stickers on them, you could use markers too. Once finished the rocks could become paperweights, a rock garden or just displayed around the house.
Baking with kid’s can be lots of fun and rather messy! But among all the mess, there are so many benefits that kid’s gain from the whole baking experience.
Baking offers so many opportunities for kid’s to work on their motor skills. Pouring liquids requires careful hand and eye coordination and kneading dough strengthens muscles. Whipping, creaming and rubbing all use different movements and muscle groups. A baking session makes an excellent work out!
Baking is so much fun and also at the end of the baking session your children will love enjoying their yummy treats. If you enjoy using baking boxes check out our blog which highlights some fantastic baking boxes you can use with your children!

Another great creative activity for Kids at home is gardening! If you don’t have empty planters to get the garden growing you can always use an old egg carton. The kids can take notes on what they’ve planted and keep track of their garden’s progress to make the activity more educational. They can draw the heights of their seedlings as they grow.
You could encourage your children to plant herbs like basil or rosemary tomatoes, cucumbers or cress. It’s so rewarding for kids to be able to actually eat what they grow! They will have delicious ingredients for cooking before they know it! Sunflowers are also a fantastic thing for children to grow as they grow so tall and look so so pretty!

Science Explanation: This experiment demonstrates the concept of density and the reaction between Alka-Seltzer and water. The oil is less dense than water, so it floats on top. When the Alka-Seltzer reacts with water, it produces carbon dioxide gas, creating bubbles that carry coloured water blobs through the oil.

Instructions:
Science Explanation: This experiment demonstrates the process of polymerization. The glue contains polyvinyl acetate, which forms long chains of molecules called polymers. When mixed with baking soda and contact lens solution, these polymers link together, creating the stretchy, gooey substance known as slime.
These experiments are simple, safe, and use common household items, making them perfect for a fun and educational science activity at home.
