HOT Academy – Houghton Regis/Dunstable Performing Arts School
Winner of the ‘Prestige Best Performing Arts School 2022’, The Hayley Otway Theatre (HOT) Academy was started by professional Actress Hayley Emma Otway in 2016. She wanted to bring full-scale shows and performing arts training to all abilities in a nurturing environment to help kids and teens have exceptional performance opportunities at an affordable price.
Since she graduated Mountview in 2009, with a BA (Hons) in Acting, Hayley has starred as Polly in ‘Crazy for You’ at the London Palladium, appeared in short films, played many a panto princess, and recently won ’Hitched Weddings Best Music 2023’ Award for singing at weddings and functions.
Hayley also has an extensive teaching background, having taught since 1997 at various establishments such as PINK, Stagecoach, The Beck Youth Theatre, Harmony’s, VPA, Encore and many more as Director, Choreographer and/or Singing Tutor. She has a BA (Hons) in English Literature, and has experience in tutoring children with SEN, specialising in childrens’ emotional needs.
HOT Academy has a unique team of teaching.
With each tutor having a truly lovely relationship with the students and unique blend of personal teaching and theatre experience (West End, Recording Artists etc), and little ’extras’ such as running the local adult theatre group, teaching at the local school, being an ex-nurse and more! Our teachers are encouraged to pursue their careers outside of HOT, and they love to come back and share their new skills and current trends, keeping our classes fresh and fun.
Hayley loves that HOT has become its own little family and thrives on every student’s individual success – however large or (seemingly) small. The school has a branch in Martin’s Heron on Saturday afternoons for ages 5-18yrs of all abilities.

Phonics with Robot Reg – South Beds
Hello, I am Ruth, an experienced teacher and I have been running Phonics with Robot Reg Classes during term-time for three years. Our award-winning classes provide children with an introduction to phonics and this is achieved with the help of our lovable mascot, Robot Reg.
In our classes, we sing, we dance, we role-play, we learn, but most of all we have lots of fun. Our 45 minute classes are high-energy, fun, engaging and educational (the children don’t even know they’re learning). We focus on many aspects of the Early Years Curriculum which the children will further develop when they start nursery/school. Learning through play is what we are all about and this is done in a low pressure, informal, relaxed atmosphere.
In our Minis classes (1-2.5/3yrs), we do lots of activities to help develop speech, language and listening skills. This is often developed through role-play, singing nursery rhymes and playing games. Sessions also include activities to develop hand eye co-ordination, as well as fine and gross motor skills.
In our Pre-school classes (2.5/3-4yrs), we gently introduce your child to phonics – letter sounds. We also focus on lots of other vital skills covered to prepare children for a confident start to school and a head start on their reading and writing journey. Many parents comment on how our classes have helped their child’s confidence and the difference they have made compared to when they first started, which is lovely to see.
Younger siblings are always welcome so there is no need to worry about finding someone to look after them. Childminders are also welcome to our classes. We do not do a ‘Pay as you Go’ option. Three week trials are available.

Shizen-No Judo Club is a community judo club based in the heart of Dunstable.
We welcome everyone from the age of 5 years old upwards to join our judo family.
The club was opened by Riki and Aga, as they wanted to give back to their local community by providing everyone with a safe, welcoming, and friendly environment for everyone to simply have fun while learning judo.

The Luton Karate Academy (LKA) – Luton Kids Clubs and Activities
The Luton Karate Academy (LKA) is based at the Inspire Sports Village in Stopsley, Luton and we teach Shotokan karate to children aged 6+ years, teenagers and adults.
Any student who practices a martial art such as karate will not only improve their health and fitness, but they will also grow in self-confidence. We will improve their stamina and concentration, so their increased focus will translate into better academic grades. Regular instruction and motivation from our coaching staff will result in a greater respect for themselves and others.
The techniques taught in class are essentially self-defence which can be applied outside the dojo should the occasion ever arise. Having said that, karate will give you an aura of confidence, spacial awareness and an organised quality that will help to deter any potential threat.The LKA is not operated as a franchise or a business, so we offer free membership with no up-front fees and we keep costs to a minimum. We just love teaching kids in our spare time and nothing pleases us more to see smiling faces when students achieve a new belt grade, or perfect a technique that they have been struggling with.We offer free taster sessions to first-timers and there is no need to invest in a karate suit for the first 4-5 weeks. Some of our students do compete at a national level and our team of instructors have competed at international level too.
We hold novice classes on Tuesday evenings (6-7pm) and Saturday mornings (10-11am).

Water Babies Hertfordshire
Join us and teach your baby or toddler to swim! Our programme starts from when babies are just weeks old and runs up to 5 years old. From lesson one we will get your little one used to the sensation of water, developing their natural instincts and turning these into core aquatic skills.
Our lessons are intimate with a maximum of 10 babies and their carer and our teacher in the pool at any time. Lessons are 30 minutes long and take place each week, they are fun and progressive and a great place for bonding with your little one away from the craziness of the world.
