Tip 2 – Sanitise & Clean your premises and equipment thoroughly.

Your cleaning routine is a huge part of creating a COVID-secure hygiene strategy for Kids Activity Providers. Ensure that you wash your hands and sanitise regularly (every 20 minutes) and ensure that sanitiser is available for people attending your venue too.

Furthermore, before, (if possible during), and after each class you should ensure to thoroughly clean. There are many different products that you can buy but we think that the 90 Day Covid Killer Spray is superb!

This spray allows you to protect hard and soft surfaces for up to 90 days. The beauty of the 90 day spray is that not only does it kill a multitude of nasties, including MRSA, Ecoli, Norovirus and COVID-19 coronavirus immediately on contact, it continues to do so for 90 days.

This means that you can spray doors, chairs, upholstery, furniture and be confident that it is acting away at killing those viruses and bugs. It actually impregnates any surface it touches, creating a protective shield, which will remain even after routine cleaning.

Tested as effective for more than 90 days against microbes such as MRSA, C Diff spore and Legionella, the technology performs like a magnet attracting microbes onto the treated layer of product. When the bacterium comes into contact with this layer, the cell is ruptured, electrocuting the bio-chemicals within and killing the microbe on contact.

The spray is available in a 500ml spray bottle, 1 litre top up bottle and 5 litre jerry can with spray bottle. These products are covered and included in the European BPR & Reach. BPR stands for biocidal products regulation. No additional sprays need to be added.

The 90 Day Covid spray killer is easy to use. With a light application, this spray-on treatment provides a protective layer by suppressing bacteria, viruses and mould whilst simultaneously enhancing the stain resistant properties of the surface. Apply a light spray directly onto hard surfaces or fabric, wipe over with a cloth or brush (depending on the surface) and allow to dry. It is Safe to use and non-toxic to the environment.

“As a mum of 3 and an owner of a baby class I am super excited to review the 90 day spray and mister from DPS dental. What is fabulous about this product is that not only does it kill coronavirus but kills a whole array of other bacteria/viruses too, plus it continues to do so for a whole 90 days.

For me personally, this spray is fantastic because as an owner of a baby class I can spray this on all of my equipment including the doors to the hall, the chairs the parents sit on, the foam mats the baby’s lie down on and Parents can feel assured that the 90 Day spray has eradicated any viruses such as covid-19 and more. What is fabulous about the spray is that The USB mister is so easy to use as well and makes applying the product so simple.you can charge the mister via USB charger. Once charged you fill the liquid in the bottle then press and release, or press and hold for 2 seconds for continuous use. Press again to stop the flow. Turn the knurled nozzle to change from spray to mist.”

Tip 3 – Social Distancing

One very important thing to consider when creating your COVID-secure hygiene strategy for Kids Activity Providers is social distancing.

Social distancing, also called “physical distancing,” means keeping a safe space between yourself and other people who are not from your household.

To practice social or physical distancing, stay at least 2 metres (about 2 arm lengths) from other people who are not from your household in both indoor and outdoor spaces.

Try to ensure that social distancing is applied in your classes/activity . Think of as many circumstances as possible that you can help with this. For example can you ask parents to queue outside 2 metres apart. Can you set up your activity with chairs or work stations spread out. Depending on the activity this may not always be possible but do try to encourage social distancing as much as possible.

Tip 4 – Ask for masks to be worn in classes

When Creating your COVID-secure hygiene strategy for Kids Activity Providers you could ensure to wear a mask and ask parents if they can also wear a mask to protect others as well as yourself.

Masks work best when everyone wears one. A mask is NOT a substitute for social distancing. Masks should still be worn in addition to staying at least 2 metres apart, especially when indoors around people who don’t live in your household.

Understandably, this is a debatable subject though as when working with young children they may find it hard to read facial expressions if a mask is worn.

However, where possible ensure that you are wearing a mask and that all the parents attending your class are also wearing a mask too.

Tip 5 – Track and Trace

An essential part of your COVID-secure hygiene strategy for Kids Activity Providers and COVID-19 Risk Assessments is a section on Test and Trace. They require that you confirm that you are responsible for recording booking attendance and storing for 21 days minimum and that you agree to share this data with NHS Test and Trace service if required. Ensure that you follow this and that all people attending register their details if possible on the COVID-19 app.

There are many other things that you can do when implementing COVID-secure hygiene strategy for Kids Activity Providers too. For example, you could ask parents to pay online before hand, ensure a booking system is in place so that you don’t have too many people attending and much more.
