Saturday Minecraft Academy at Chambersbury Primary

Activity Description

Children will dive into the immersive ComputerXplorers Exploration Island, specially designed for Minecraft: Education Editionand this curriculum. Over the course, children will build their confidence and skills in Minecraft by unlocking new challenges each week.

The course has been designed to give a real flavour of the possibilities within Minecraft, offering design challenges, team building exercises, autonomous learning opportunities and most importantly, an engaging and fun environment.

Throughout the course children will move from team building basic shared living quarters to building a firework display down at the Rainbow Disco to summon their Coding Agent,for whom they will create and write code, automating some of the everyday tasks such as tilling and sowing seeds.

Target practice challenges will prepare them for the task of electrifying the railway lines and riding the Redstone Rollercoaster all the way to the treasure trove castle. Here they will explore mazes, vaults, a locked room of zombies and mobsters, and the basement of the castlewhich holds some of the islands most treasured items.

Here children will create multi coloured torches, underwater torches and ice bombs. The perfect mixture of chemistry and fun!

The end of the course brings big fun and mini games, where children will create and take on a series of challenges –who will make the plunge pool from 200 blocks high? Who can make it to the top of the golden stairs without falling?!

Most importantly, can we defeat the mobs and save the animals?!
