Midwife-led ANTENATAL CLASSES

Activity Description

4 week midwife-led antenatal course starting 21/10/2024.

The Birth Preparation Company is a small business in Wymondham, Norfolk, founded over 4 years ago by your friendly local community midwife and IBCLC lactation consultant Andrea, who felt frustrated by being faced with many time restrictions in our busy ‘one size fits all’ healthcare system, not allowing her to give more in-depth information to the families in her care.

Her popular antenatal courses offer evidence-based and unbiased information presented in a friendly and non-judgemental way. The
courses are packed-full of information, as well as practical skills, and there is always time to ask questions.

You will learn about creating the optimal birthing environment, coping mechanisms and pain relief in labour, grasping the necessary skills for both breastfeeding and bottle feeding, and understanding how to care for your new baby in the early days along with what to expect when becoming a new parent.

You will receive handouts after each session, as well as ongoing support by Andrea via WhatsApp. Each session includes a break, during which you will be able to enjoy a cuppa and chat to the other course participants. This, together with being a part of a WhatsApp group, is a great opportunity to create a support network of new parents with babies due at similar times.
