Estrellas Brillantes Spanish Classes (5 – 14 years – Mondays and Tuesdays)

Activity Description

¡Hola! Me llamo Rachel and soy profesora de español. I run Estrellas Brillantes (Shining Stars) Spanish classes for 0-15 year olds, using La Jolie Ronde’s tried and tested methodology.

I have worked with children in Bolivia (South America) and Glasgow for over 20 years, and it’s a real privilege to be able to share my love of Spanish with so many children each week, and to watch them have fun and learn. I was thrilled to win the Franchisee of the Year award in September 2021 at the Club Hub Awards (and to get to the finals again in 2022!) In 2022, I won a silver award in the Best Businesswomen Awards in the category ‘Best Businesswomen Working with Children and Families’ in 2022, ‘Most loved activity leader in Scotland and N. Ireland’ at the Whatson4Kids Awards and the ‘Acing Adversity’ award at the Single Mums Business Network awards in 2022. In 2023 I won Against All Odds at the Family Network Awards and Franchisee of the Year at the Business Success Network Awards and I’m a finalist in 3 categories at the What’s on 4 Kids Awards in November.

In our classes, Spanish is learned in a fun and interactive way, with flashcards, games, songs, and roleplays – each child has their own A4 full-colour workbook with all the listening activities and songs available on an app that can be used on a phone or tablet. Children don’t just learn a new language – they make new friends, grow in confidence, learn about other cultures and traditions, and have lots of fun!

Weekly update messages are sent to parents as well as interactive online games, for children to practice what they’ve learned at home.

We also run special fundraising activities in the summer holidays and at the end of each term to raise money for children’s charities in Bolivia and Uganda and we’ve raised almost £20,000 so far for these charities since 2017.

Las Aventuras de Mifú y Tina y sus amigos (P3) – Tuesdays at 5.00pm – 5.45pm

Hola Pedro y Carmen (P4-5) – Tuesdays at 4:00pm – 4:45pm

Buenos Días España (P5-7) – Mondays at 5.00pm – 5:45pm, Tuesdays at 5:30pm – 6:15pm

Mi Viaje por España (S1-S4) – Mondays at 5:30pm – 6:15pm (requires previous Spanish knowledge)
