Activity Description

Chloe May’s Dance Academy is a traditional dance school with a modern twist! We have a combined number of 300 dancers (toddlers, kids, teens & adults) between Kidderminster and Bromsgrove and have been running for almost 6 years. We are an encouraging, supportive and welcoming dance school that strives to help children become the best dancers they can be. We are not elitist in our approach and want every child to have access to a fulfilling dance education – whether they just want to dance for fun or decide to dance for progression and achievement with dreams of a career in the performance arts industry. Our main aims through the Academy are to promote children’s love for dance, allow them to enjoy positive physical exercise, improve their mental health, develop their confidence, self-esteem and performance skills, as well as to thrive as dancers and individuals. In Kidderminster we teach Ballet, Tap & Modern, Acro Dance, Pom Dance, Street Dance and Lyrical/Contemporary classes. We have classes available from walking right up to adults. There is something to suit all tastes, ages and abilities at Chloe May’s Dance Academy.

Tap dance involves the use of tap shoes to create loud and intricate beats whilst dancing. If a tap dancer was a musical instrument – they would be a drum! Contemporary modern is an energetic and expressive dance style characterised by its impressive leaps, kicks and turns.

From School Year 2, children have the opportunity to take official IDTA examinations. Our exam-level classes are fast paced, challenging and fun as children develop their technical skills and learn to express their individuality and personality through performance. Children learn more intricate rhythms and advanced movements whilst dancing to a range of current chart music and musical theatre songs.
