At Croydon School Readiness Programme, we understand that managing behaviour can sometimes feel challenging for both children and parents. Our in-home Behaviour Support Services provide personalised, practical support within the child’s own home and everyday environment.
We work with children to help them understand their emotions, communicate their needs, develop self-regulation and learn positive ways to manage their behaviour. Through engaging activities, play, conversation, modelling and age-appropriate strategies, we help children build the skills they need to manage big feelings, follow boundaries, cope with changes and develop positive relationships. Supporting self-regulation can also benefit children’s learning, social interactions and wider development.
Our sessions are tailored to each child and may focus on areas such as emotional regulation, communication, listening, following instructions, routines, boundaries, sharing and turn-taking, social skills, managing frustration, transitions and independence.
We also recognise that supporting the child is only part of the process. Parents are an important part of a child’s development, so we work alongside families to provide practical strategies that can be used consistently at home. We can help parents understand what may be contributing to particular behaviours and introduce positive approaches that are realistic for their family and daily routines. Evidence-based guidance highlights the value of working collaboratively with parents and using clear, consistent expectations and practical strategies to support children’s self-regulation.
There is no one-size-fits-all approach and no promise of a quick fix. Instead, we take the time to understand each child, identify their individual needs and work towards achievable goals through consistent, positive support.
Our aim is to help children feel understood, supported and confident, while giving parents the tools and reassurance they need to support their child beyond our sessions.
Personalised support. Practical strategies. Positive change.
