Activity Description

A free, family-friendly nature fete with bug hunting, crafts, a bake sale and our famously chaotic wader wanging competition – right in the middle of Deptford.

Perfect for families, local residents and anyone after a relaxed, low-cost day outdoors.

Drop in anytime and enjoy:
– Bug hunts and a family-friendly nature trail
– Arts and crafts for all ages
– Guided walks around the park
– Bake sale, refreshments and a community raffle
– And yes…our wader wanging competition (it’s exactly what it sounds like)

11.00am – Wildflower Guided Walk
11.30am – Knot-Tying Workshop
12.30pm – Wader Wanging Competition
1.30pm – Deptford Ragged School family activity (meet the team from ‘Educating Deptford’, learn about the history of this amazing local institution, and prepare your very own plants for the ‘Flower Show’ later in the summer!)
1.30pm – Wildflower Guided Walk
