Open Up the Mic

Activity Description

Taking place over one week in August, Open Up the Mic helps young people build confidence and resilience through the power of comedy. It’s a unique opportunity to reframe personal challenges in a creative and supportive environment, working alongside professional comedians and artists.

Led by local comedian Ruth E. Cockburn, participants will develop their own comedy routines while gaining valuable skills in communication and self-expression. It culminates in a live performance where the young people will showcase their work in front of family and friends.
