Inspired by textile artists like Tracey Emin and Josh Faught, this project invites you to explore the art of painting on fabric and creating mixed media textile pieces that incorporate text. You’ll learn how to use paint to bring texture, colour, and meaning to textiles, while experimenting with layering and personal expression. Text can be added through writing, stencilling, or embroidery to give your piece a narrative or emotional depth. Sewing elements will be handled by instructors or older students under supervision, ensuring everyone can safely and confidently bring their vision to life.
Students will get to keep the artwork made.
