Kidslingo is a language franchise teaching French and Spanish to thousands of children, age 0 – 11, every single week. We work face to face and online, with primary schools (delivering clubs and curriculum classes), nurseries, home educators, private groups and 1-2-1 tuition.
Kidslingo’s philosophy is simple – to inspire children to love languages for life. We aim to foster inquisitiveness for language learning from a child’s very earliest years.
I am very proud to have built up Kidslingo to a position of brand and financial strength, making a significant impact on the numbers of children now accessing languages at a young age in the UK. For our wonderful franchisees, we provide a ready-made business package from in depth training and ongoing support to exciting and engaging teaching materials and everything in between. This structure enables them to grow and thrive doing something that they love and has a true impact on young children.

2021 Club Hub Award Winner: Rachel Peebles – Estrellas Brillantes
Estrellas Brillantes (Shining Stars) provides fun and interactive Spanish classes for babies, toddlers, primary and secondary age children, using La Jolie Ronde’s tried and tested methodology. The classes inspire children to learn and use Spanish from the very first class, promoting a love of languages and confidence to speak from a young age, and this makes such a difference as children approach language learning at high school.
Estrellas Brillantes was founded in 2017 by Rachel Peebles, who spent over 9 years working with children and families in a community project in Bolivia, South America, speaking Spanish every day. After coming back to Scotland and working as a children and young people’s support worker at Glasgow Women’s Aid for 7 years, she decided to start up her own business teaching Spanish to children. Her passion for Spanish and working with children shines through in her classes and she loves having the oportunity to teach her little language learners each week.
Classes are taught in two different teaching centres, in church halls, which makes them accessible for all children in the local area. Each programme is tailored to a specific age and stage and many of the children who currently attend classes have moved up through the levels since classes started back in 2017. Classes are energetic and interactive – flash cards, songs, stories, role play, art, makaton, bubbles, parachute games, and bookwork are used to help children learn Spanish, while having lots of fun! As well as learning a new language, children make friends, build confidence, work together in groups, and learn about other Spanish-speaking cultures.
More than 600 zoom classes ran during lockdown, and everyone is now back to having fun together in face-to-face classes again.
Each year, as well as the normal weekly classes, Estrellas Brillantes run several fundraising events to raise money for charities in Bolivia and Uganda – last year we ran special Christmas events, Easter zoom bake-a-longs, outdoor park classes and a summer club and we’re thrilled to have raised over £12,000 for these charities in the past 4 years.
