The recent lockdown is so much worse for children and parents because of the sheer amount of homework and stress on parents, coupled with the effects of social distancing on children.
That’s why we need something super fun to look forward too, get us active, creative, making things, and taking part in something that is greater than our individual selves – the act of making something from nothing is incredibly healing and I know first hand the benefits that this course brought my students last year.

Learning with Kerri ‘The Drama Queen’ from the Retro Performing Arts Co. Kerri Layton is an award-winning, experienced Drama Teacher, Trained Youth Worker, and Singer-Songwriter. She has worked and performed on stage and screen, working with the BBC, Glastonbury Festival, Alexandra Palace and so many more. Training with the Association of Young Leaders (AYL) in Russia, part of the Californian Association of Youth Councilors (CASC) before working as Head of Drama at Great Oaks Small School in Kent.
Her academy, Retro Performing Arts Co was founded at the start of lockdown and has since been featured in publications across the UK such as Business News Daily, Education News, Thrive Global, and the Daily Mirror. In 2020 Kerri was named as one of Londons inspiring women for her contribution to the arts from We Are City.

Q) What dates does it run
A) March 1st – Aril 10th
Q) What happens if all the schools go back?
A) The course is designed to fits around school timetables and is perfect for reintegrating children into school life! We have designed it so it is flexible and includes a lot of IRL activities as well as on-screen learning.
Q) My child has never done drama before, is this course suitable for them?
A) Yes, absolutely! The course is perfect for beginners or children who have done lots of drama before! The lessons are educational and accessible, they can be tailored and children who wish to know more can go as dep into the subject as they wish. We provide ample room for exploration of the subject.
Q) Can my 3 year old get involved?
A) Unfortunatly the course is only suitable for ages 7 + BUT there is no reason why a 3-year-old can’t feature n the final film act! In fact, the whole family can!
Q) If we miss a class do we get another one?
A) Where possible we will try and squeeze you into another session, but this depends on how many children we have registered and if there are spaces.

A)Videos will be sent on a Monday via email, with the task book for the week
