Days: October 21st to Friday October 25th
Times: 10am to 3pm
The ability to think creatively and develop ideas serves us greatly in life. Whether it’s for use at school, university, as an entrepreneur or in the work place, the capacity to think creatively and to have confidence in our ideas is hugely important. Critical thinking is also essential in order to find solutions to problems, evaluate options effectively, assess risks and think strategically. It’s important to learn a range of creativity techniques and how to communicate new ideas to others, as well as viewing failure as an opportunity to learn.
The course is designed to develop the key skills of creativity and critical thinking.
The week includes lots of fun activities which encourage the children to use their critical thinking to solve problems and also use their creativity to come up with new ideas and designs. Specific activities include working as a team to empty a bucket of ‘toxic waste’, creating and presenting their own ‘Dragon’s Den’ product design, and planning a mountain rescue strategy.
