Providing fun music, singing and movement classes at home for children from 3 months to 5 years.
We teach children to play percussion instruments expressively, to sing songs and find the rhythm to move and dance. Most importantly children have lots of fun and build their confidence.
3 age appropriate classes are published each Monday morning as well as activity packs supporting our sessions to download and story time through the week.
Launched in 1995 by Gill Thomas, Jo Jingles classes are now available in over 700 centres throughout the UK and Ireland, with more than 20,000 children enjoying the company’s fun and interactive musical sessions with an educational slant on a weekly basis.
Our passion is bringing music and instrument playing to young children and babies in a fun and interactive way. Creating a stimulating environment for children to learn and blossom in confidence. Each week our age specific classes are tailor made to engage even our youngest members, and we hope that you find the classes rewarding by enjoying watching them progress and learn new kills. Themes include The Farm, Space, Dinosaurs, Our Body’s, Lets Start Counting and Under The Sea to name a few.
During each fun filled 30 minute class, Jo Jingles combines a mix of singing and movement to rhythm, percussion instruments such as drums, cymbals and bells and help from its infamous doll mascot “Jo’ teaching children to play percussion instruments expressively, sing songs and find rhythm to move and dance. Classes encourage hand-eye co-ordination, speech and language development as well as encouraging their physical, mental and emotional development.
It is widely recognised that music can be used to aid a child’s development in many key areas other than just musical ability.
Research suggests that children under the age of nine are particularly receptive to music. Children are born with an abundance of ‘genes and synapses that make them immediately ready to learn music’
If this natural sensitivity to music can be stimulated from a very early age it will help development in other areas. Research is even suggesting that the earlier music is introduced to a child the more potential that child will have for learning in the future!
Our aim is to:
Encourage the physical, mental and emotional development of every child attending Jo jingles classes
Give children their first structured, fun introduction to music
Give every child attending classes the chance to play a variety of age specific musical instruments
And…. MAKE LEARNING FUN!!!
Jo Jingles Epsom2Leatherhead took part in an Ofsted inspection of Meadow Sure Start Children’s Centre in Epsom in 2014 and I am proud to say were rated as “Outstanding”
‘In a very well attended ‘Jo Jingles’ session children took great delight in dancing, singing and playing instruments. This helped them to develop their listening and speaking skill, as well as socialising with their families and other children. They thoroughly enjoyed the bubbles and music, and had great fun learning”
We have also been nominated in the What’s on for Little Ones Awards 2014 & 2015 for Outstanding Leader of Activities for Under 5’s South East
