Little Slingers Dance Classes combine the benefits of babywearing with dance exercise. Specifically choreographed routines, in which the adult participates with their child using the support of a baby carrier or sling. With a primary focus on the safety and comfort of the child and the wearer, Little Slingers combines health and safety with fun, step by step routines- Setting Standards in Babywearing Dance and Exercise.
Designed to promote the benefits of babywearing and provide a unique experience whereby both the child and the wearer can have an enjoyable time.

Class leaders
Little Slingers is dedicated to setting standards and passionate about providing a unique and valuable provision to the community. Little Slingers Dance Class leaders are fully qualified with babywearing, postnatal fitness and first aid qualifications as well as DBS checked. All class leaders are driven to produce a high standard of continued professional development, working alongside CPD and City and Guilds, and as such are continually updating their understanding and expertise.
Little Slingers Dance Classes also support local health care professionals in developing and extending knowledge to individuals and communities.
Our team have been specifically chosen, based not only on their qualifications but their passion to provide an outstanding service in which everyone is valued and encouraged.
Together, class leaders have over 35 years combined experience and are fully trained and qualified in a variety of industries:

Antenatal Practitioner

Early Years, BA(Hons),Level 5 Foundation Degree, Paediatric Nurse BA (Hons)

Babywearing Practitioners
Childcare Learning & Development, Diploma, NVQ Level 3, Adult Nurse BA (Horns)

Researchers, Sports Practitioners
Award in Designing
Pre and Post Natal Exercise
Level 4, Paediatric First Aid
Routines
Your class leader will divide each dance routine into a set of sequences. These sequences will be performed individually, before being combined to create the full routine. This ensures that the process is gradual and suitable for all abilities. Routines have been designed with the health and safety of the child being paramount, with this in mind each routine incorporates gentle steps that are comfortable for the child and effective for the wearer.
Combining dance exercise with essential bonding time, routines are carefully developed by experienced class leaders and are designed in a way that ensures you and your little one will have an enjoyable and safe experience.
What to expect
Come and dance along to hip-hop, pop and the great classics whilst wearing your child.
A 60-minute session comprising:
• Welcome and carrier checks
• Warm up
• Stretches
• 2/3 Routines
• Cool Down
• Discussion time
The dance classes are delivered across 30 minutes with an additonal30 minutes offered for welcome and introduction, fit checks and to receive information and advice regarding your babywearing experience. Class leaders are fully qualified Practitioners and as such can provide informative knowledge and experience for you if required. Complimentary tea and coffee are available after the class and the opportunity to socialise with others.

Health and Safety
Classes have been meticulously designed in order that they meet health and safety guidelines and are an enjoyable experience for the both the child and the wearer. Little Slingers is dedicated to providing an activity in which the adult can have just as much fun as the child. Little Slingers have ensured that the routines are suitable for both the adult and the child as health and safety is of paramount importance to us. As registered members of the Baby Carrier Industry Alliance we have liaised closely with them to ensure the service we provide is of the highest possible standards, focusing on and complying with a range of complex regulations.

Advice
Classes are suitable for babies from 4 months
Your baby or toddler can be worn on the front or back, facing in, for the purpose of the class
We recommend that baby & toddlers are dressed in cool breathable clothing, to prevent overheating. You are welcome to change or remove layers before the class begins.
There will be plenty of opportunity for you to rest, but please take a break in class as and when you require
Due to the nature of Little Slingers we highly recommend that a two-shoulder sling/carrier is worn.
All participants are required to complete a booking form & disclaimer before taking part.

Accreditations
Little Slingers Dance Co are a part of a Gold Accredited Company; The Children’s Activities Association. Little Slingers is approved by KalliKids and are fully accredited with CPD providing continued professional development. Within this we have, amongst others, met high compliances, have relevant qualifications, quality staff training, Policies and procedures and provide an excellent customer service.
Little Slingers are members of the BCIA, who we liaise with to ensure we are up to date with all baby carrier safety guidelines and policies and procedures for babywearing.
Our Academy is accredited by the CPD certification service and is a recognised qualification.
